WARS AT THE WAREHOUSE!

Brian ‘The Lion’ Rose (29-5-1 8KO) makes his comeback tonight at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester. The show, promoted by MTK Global, includes some notable names and provides Brian Rose the opportunity to gain some rounds before he takes on WBO European Champion Luke Keeler (15-2 5KO) at York Hall in December. Former world title challenger Rose, 33, returns 20 months after losing to Blackpool rival, Jack Arnfield (25-3 6KO). Revitalised after his extended break, Rose has stated that this fight marks the beginning of his final chapter in boxing but he is adamant he is not returning for monetary gain but to become a champion again and end his career on a high. In the opposite corner tonight is Yorkshireman Alistair Warren (11-20-4 4KO). Warren, 31, does have a losing record but has been in with some big names including Chris Eubank Jr and John Ryder. Warren has taken several unbeaten records over the years but his most notable win came when he outpointed Marcus Morrison (17-3 13KO) in June this year. ‘The Lion’ will be hoping to get some competitive rounds under his belt before taking on talented Irishman Luke Keeler. The card also features former world title challenger ‘Jimmy’ Kilrain Kelly (23-2 9KO). Kelly, 26, returns to the ring 7 months after an unsuccessful trip to Australia where he dropped a unanimous decision to Denis Hogan (17-1-1 7KO).

The Wythenshawe super welterweight has gained invaluable experience over the years and although he fell short in his two biggest fights to date, the experience will only be beneficial for inevitable fights in the future. Still only 26, Kelly will be hoping to spring back into title contention in 2019. Adam Hague (13-2 2KO) also continues his progression as he takes on the well-seasoned Michael Mooney. Hague is continuing his rebuilding process after his disappointing loss to Lee Appleyard (14-4 5KO) in 2017. Competing in a fiercely competitive 140lb British division, Hague will be looking to get himself involved in some big fights in the early part of next year. Hartlepool’s Savannah Marshall (4-0 2KO) also returns after featuring on the undercard of Kubrat Pulev vs Hughie Fury just last month. It has been a whirlwind start to Marshall’s professional career. Initially, she signed to Mayweather promotions and made her debut in Las Vegas on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s bout against Conor McGregor.

Although her American experience only lasted one fight, Marshall remains an excellent talent and after winning the WBA inter-continental title in Sofia last month, her assault on the world Super Middleweight scene starts here. Cumbrian Mike McGoldrick (2-0) features lower down the card over 4 rounds whilst super welterweight Sahir Iqbal (3-0 1KO) continues his development also over 4 rounds plus there is a return to the ring for light heavyweight Hosea Burton (22-1 11KO) who intends to keep 2018 a busy year after making this his third outing of 2018.
