Tonight, Eat, Sleep, Boxing, Repeat will be in attendance at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow to see Kash Farooq (11-0) defend his British Bantamweight Title against challenger Kyle Williams (10-0). The fight promoted by St Andrews Sporting club should be a lively affair and a fight I am looking forward to after spending 45 minutes on the phone with St Andrews own Ian McLeod on Tuesday. Ian spoke very highly of Kash, and sold me on what is expected to be a great fight. The challenger Kyle Williams comes into the fight as undefeated English Bantamweight Champion overcoming Thomas Essomba in a tight points decision last June. Both fighters tasted the canvas but Williams showed his grit to come through the fight and should really come on for the experience.

The champion “The Untouchable” Kash Farooq makes the second defence of the title he won by blitzing Dundee’s Jamie Wilson in 73 seconds back in September. Farooq scored a perfectly timed right hand counter and Wilson could not recover as he tasted the canvas two further times before referee John Latham waved it off. Farooq then defended the title for the first time on the MTK Global show in Glasgow in November against tough fellow Scotsman Iain Butcher winning a wide unanimous points decision in an entertaining battle in which Butcher done very well to stand up to some of the vicious body attacks presented by the always improving Farooq. The fight is set-up to be an all-out action affair. If Williams boxes clever he could make the bout interesting and perhaps tricky at times for Farooq. However Farooq’s silky skills and class should take over and I expect Farooq to win by late stoppage or a wide points decision in an entertaining fight. Tune into our social page tonight for updates throughout and also catch the fight on the BBC Scotland channel from 11pm.
