MTK Global returns to York Hall on Friday night with a packed card full of prospects who are in the process of enjoying a successful 2019.
With fully-fledged action from start to finish, topping the bill is the Southern Area Welterweight title fight, contested between Samuel Antwi & Siar Ozgul.
Both recording losses in 2018, tonight's fight will raise the stature of one fighter whilst the other will be forced to go back to the drawing board. Ozgul, who suffered two contrasting losses last year, bounced back with a win against Chris Adaway earlier this year.
In an incredibly entertaining fight for the Light-Welterweight Southern Area strap, Ozgul was stopped in the final round of the contest with many believing that the Turkish born boxer was well on the way to successfully defending his title.
In his very next fight, Ozgul took on former world champion Viktor Postol, giving a good account of himself in a points decision loss.
The older, yet less experienced fighter Antwi, picked up the title back in February, dismantling the previously undefeated Jez Smith which included four knockdowns.
In what is regarded as a genuine 50-50 fight, this is a main event that shouldn’t disappoint those tuning in.
Also on the card:
The active Dan Azzez is back in action in the first 8 rounder of his career. After fighting 5 times in 2018, Azzez is well on the way to repeating that as well as extending his unbeaten record to 8-0.
Exciting young welterweight Liam Wells fights in his 5th professional bout in a step-up against Jumanne Camero (7-3). ‘Wellsy’ who only turned pro a few months ago is going up against Camero who has taken both Jeff Ofori & Freddy Kiwitt the distance recently.
After splitting from the McGuigan stable, Chantelle Cameron is back in action in a 6 round contest.
Also returning to action on the card is former English & Commonwealth welterweight champion John O' Donnell who is back after a two year hiatus.
Finally, promising novices Donovan Mortlock & James Hawley are fighting in their 3rd professional contests.
