Undisputed women’s super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner will defend her titles on Saturday night in a rematch against former two-time titleholder Christina Linardatou. The championship tilt will headline a DAZN card from the Masonic Temple in Baumgardner’s adopted hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

Linardatou was responsible for giving Baumgardner her first and only loss back in 2018, winning a split decision after eight rounds. Despite her victory the first time around, Linardatou will likely be coming into Saturday’s matchup as a heavy underdog.

Baumgardner (14-1, 7 KO) burst onto the world boxing scene back in November 2021, when she stopped Terri Harper in the fourth round to capture the WBC title. She reached even greater heights last year, when she fought and narrowly outpointed Mikaela Mayer to win two more belts in the weight class. Then, in her most recent outing in February, Baumgardner captured the last remaining belt after outpointing Elhem Mekhaled to unify the super featherweight division.

Since her win over Baumgardner, Greece’s Linardatou (14-2, 6 KO) has won four out of her last five bouts, capturing two junior welterweight titles in the process. The only loss out of that bunch was to Katie Taylor, one of the best female pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
